And you can read the whole article right here. My favorite quote:
She's a role model that women of all ages need today, and Catie Turner is doing everyone a service by unapologetically being herself, always. And even if she doesn't win American Idol, America has definitely won her.
I had the insane privilege of getting to work with Catie at AMDA NY last summer, and I can assure you of two things:
1) None of her persona is an act. Everything she does that is weird, quirky, supportive, or awkward is 100% real and 100% wonderful.
2) She arrived fully formed and I can't take any responsibility for any of her musical ability or talent. It's all her. All I was able to say was "Don't be afraid to take yourself seriously, because you are worth taking seriously". I also gave her some fashion advice that has since been proven COMPLETELY WRONG by her success, which is leaving me feeling like a total idiot. But that's what happens when a 30-year-old man tries to tell a 16-year-old girl anything about what clothes work onstage and what don't - she inevitably starts the next amazing new trend of quirky clothes, and he's reminded of the importance of keeping his outdated opinions to himself.
I am so fucking proud of this girl. This artist. This sensation.
